Evalution.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The key conventions of a magazine are the mast head which i put at the top of the front cover, i have included an image which would have something to do with whats going on in the magazine. I've have used most of the conventions that you would find on an everyday magazine.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
In my magazine, i have included stereotypical images and topic of teenagers that are in college, such as my front cover is a picture of two teenagers with a guitar, this is stereotypical student because they are usually into music.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I think with a student magazine, the college might want to distribute it to get it started on it's journey to the students, also the student council might want to sponser it and give it some money to make the magazine better quality.

• Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my magazine would be students from colleges, seeing though thats it is a student magazine. Then again teachers may want to read the student magazine aswell, to see whats going on in college life and maybe if they like the magazine they could support it maybe give some money towards the production of the magazines.

• How did you attract/address your audience?
In my magazine i included quite a few things which could attract different target audience and readers, for example i had section on music and gig reviews, this might not be to everybodies taste but would attract the people who are interested and would read what the magazine would have to offer in that department. Another section i put in my magazine was the 'Games and Gadgets' section which would tell you about the latest game to be released such as World of Warcraft Cataclysm, which would have it's own review and comments from other people, also i would talk about all the great gaming gear and would have a review on Razor Naga MMORPG Gaming mouse, so my magazine could cover a wide range of audience. Some of the thing on my front cover are highlighted in box's to draw your eye to them such as the price, when it was brought out and the prize from out quiz which is inside the magazine. The picture also goes well with the prize to our competition, because we have a college student playing a guitar and the prize is get free guitar lessons off the college's music teacher.

Textual Analysis

As soon as i look at the magazine, 'First Car', the first thing that jumps out at me, was the title. The reason because it is bold and it's in bright white writing on a fairly dark background. The banner at the top of the magazine's front cover, contains some of the things that are going to be included in the magazine, such as Competitions, Games&Gadgets and New & Used Cars. Also the banner at the bottom of the front cover, looks like a film reel and shows that the magazine has more to offer than the interview, yet does not compromise the space. The three headlines tell you the page number of three of the things which can be found in the magazine. The banner that is on a slant says that there is an 'Inbetweeners' interview in this magazine, most of the teenagers these days watch and like the 'Inbetweeners' and seeing that there is an interview by them would make them want to buy the magazine and see what they said in the interview.
